In 2015, I found myself at a crossroad. I was too young to retire but not willing to be married to the corporate world any longer.I lost several family members in a short span of time and knew time with my family was precious. My sales and marketing background in international markets was an amazing foundation to build upon but I needed to express myself creatively. I needed to make a difference at a grass roots level and thus I left big business behind. I got more involved with my community and found that my skills could be put to good use.
After only a couple months, I was receiving tremendous feedback and requests. I knew I was on the right track. While I was still in marketing, I was thrilled with the variety of projects on this new path. There are so many opportunities for small businesses to brand and express themselves today. Everyday is a grand adventure in the world of freelance marketing. While graphic design is my focus, I find each new challenge requires me to employ a variety of skill sets from photography, custom fonts and original graphic art, to video techniques. I purposefully choose to utilize technology that the average consumer has access to. Whether it is revamping website templates or converting photos to art, there are viable, economical and user-friendly technology choices available.
